# How do I version a sound token?

> Open a token and bump its version — patch, minor, or major. Each bump is recorded, so the token carries a history of what changed and when.

> **Tip:** Bump patch for a tweak that keeps the same character, minor for a noticeably different take, and major when engineering will have to change something.

> **Note:** Cmd + Z and Cmd + Shift + Z undo and redo token changes while you are in the Tokens tab.

## Steps

1. Open the Tokens tab and select a token.
2. Find the version row in the token detail panel.
3. Use the bump menu and pick patch, minor, or major.
4. The new version shows on the token card and in its detail.
5. Scroll to the version history to see previous versions and their notes.
