# How do I add effects to one track in a mix?

> Each track in the Mix has its own effects button. It opens a small chain with gain, EQ, filter, and compressor that applies to that track only.

> **Note:** Only effects that keep a track the same length are offered here. Pitch shift and time stretch would move everything after them, so they stay in the Edit tab.

> **Tip:** Effects are never baked in. Revert clears a track’s effects and restores the original audio in one press.

## Steps

1. Open the Create tab, switch to Mix, and load your tracks.
2. Click the effects button on the track you want to shape.
3. Add gain, EQ, filter, or compressor and adjust the controls. The track re-renders as you go.
4. Play the mix to hear the track in context.
5. Use Match track to mix to pull one track into line with the rest, or Revert to clear the chain entirely.
