# How do I swap one layer of a mix for a similar sound?

> Use the swap button on a track. It ranks library sounds against what that track currently sounds like and replaces it in one click, keeping its timing and settings.

> **Tip:** Start time, volume, pan, mute, solo, and the track’s effects all survive a swap — only the audio changes.

> **Note:** Ranking means listening to candidates, so the pool is capped and the panel says how many it compared. Too few comparable sounds and it tells you instead of showing an empty list.

## Steps

1. Open the Create tab, switch to Mix, and select the track you want to change.
2. Click the swap button on that track.
3. Wait while the candidates are ranked against the current audio.
4. Pick a result to drop it into the track.
5. Play the mix. If it is worse, undo the swap to get the original back.
