# How do I fix an odd-sounding sound without replacing it?

> Use Match tone from the Consistency Report. It keeps the sound you chose but balances its tone and loudness toward the one the rest of that group uses.

> **Tip:** Replace throws away the clip you picked. Match tone keeps it — the click still sounds like that click, just balanced to the family.

> **Note:** Nothing is written until you press Commit. You get an A/B of the original against the matched version first.

## Steps

1. Open the Canvas tab and scan your pages.
2. Open the Consistency Report from the toolbar.
3. Find a group where one sound drifts from the rest, and choose Match tone instead of Replace.
4. Sound Kit measures the group’s exemplar and works out a corrective EQ and gain for the outlier.
5. Compare the original against the matched version with the A/B player.
6. Press Commit to attach the matched version to the node.
