# How do I make all my sounds the same loudness?

> Pick a Loudness Target in the editor — iOS Tap, Web UI, Modal Alert, Ambient, or your own number — and normalize the sound to it. Do that for every sound and the set stays even.

> **Note:** Loudness is not the same as peak level. Two sounds can peak at the same place and still feel very different — the target is measured the way people actually perceive it.

> **Tip:** Your Platform Palette sets a sensible default target for iOS, Android, or Web, and the Analyze tab can check the whole file against it.

## Steps

1. Open a sound in the Create tab’s Edit view.
2. Find Loudness Target in the Interaction panel on the right.
3. Pick a preset, or choose Custom and type the level you want.
4. Compare the measured reading against the target — the meter shows how far off you are.
5. Click Normalize to move the sound onto the target.
6. Save. The target travels with the sound into the canvas and the developer handoff.
