# How do I create a sound with AI?

> In Create, on the AI Generate tab, pick a provider, type a prompt, set the length, and click Generate Sound. Then save the result to your library.

## Before you start

- An AI provider key set up (see How do I set up AI sound generation?).

> **Note:** AI generation uses your own provider key (OpenAI, ElevenLabs, or Replicate). Add it once in Settings, AI Providers. You pay the provider directly for what you generate.

> **Tip:** No key yet? When a provider shows a "No Key" badge, click Configure API Keys right there to add one.

## Steps

1. Open the Create tab and choose AI Generate.
2. Pick an AI Provider: OpenAI, ElevenLabs, or Replicate. To start from a ready-made prompt, open the Presets panel on the left and click one, like Button Click or Success.
3. In the Prompt box, type a short description of the sound you want.
4. Set the Sound Style, then drag the Duration slider. The estimated cost updates next to it.
5. Click Generate Sound and wait for it to finish.
6. When it is ready, click Play Preview to hear it. Not quite right? Click Regenerate to try again, or Variation for a fresh take.
7. Happy with it? Click Save to Library to keep the sound. It now lives with your sounds, ready to attach or edit later.
