# How do I change or remove a sound on a video node?

> Replace Sound and Remove Sound live in the Canvas tab. They work on a scanned video node, so first scan the canvas, then select the node and use the actions in the details sidebar on the right.

## Before you start

- The sound must be on a video node. A sound you only tagged onto a plain layer (Attach to layer) is silent metadata and is not shown or changed here.

> **Note:** The Canvas tab only lists video nodes. A plain button or component with no video will not appear, so you cannot change or remove a sound from one here.

> **Tip:** Switch to List view to see node rows. Map (Graph) view also works — just click the node in the graph.

## Steps

1. Open the Canvas tab in the top nav.
2. Pick a scope (Current Page, Select Pages, or All) and click Start Scan to find your video nodes.
3. In the results header, click the List view icon to see your video nodes as rows.
4. Click the video node you want to change. Its details open in the sidebar on the right.
5. To change the sound, click Replace Sound and pick a new one from the library.
6. To take the sound off, click Remove Sound. (This action only appears when the node already has a sound.)
