# Sound tokens

> Name a sound once and reuse it everywhere

Save a sound as a named token — `feedback.success`, `notification.message` — and use the name everywhere instead of the file. Change the token and every screen using it follows. Tokens are W3C DTCG-shaped, so they are real design tokens, not a private format.

## What it gives you

- **W3C DTCG format** — `$type` / `$value` / `$extensions` — the same shape as your colour and spacing tokens.
- **Versioned** — Keep the history of a token so you can see what changed and roll back.
- **Themed** — Variants let one token resolve differently per theme or platform.

## How to use it

1. Get a sound the way you want it.
2. Choose Save as token and give it a role-shaped name.
3. Use the token on canvas instead of the raw file.
4. Version it when it changes, and switch themes to swap the whole set.
