# Sonify a selection

_Make your own · Sound Kit for Figma · Sound Kit Pro_

> Turn a shape or colour into a starting sound

Select something on the canvas and let Sound Kit derive a sound from it — geometry, colour and size become pitch, brightness and length. It is a sketching tool: a fast way to get an unusual starting point you would never have typed into a search box.

## What it gives you

- **Design drives the audio** — Shape, colour and scale map onto sonic properties, so the result relates to what is on screen.
- **A sketch, not a deliverable** — Treat the output as raw material and shape it in the editor.
- **Great for brand work** — Useful when you need something distinctive rather than something generic.

## How to use it

1. Select a shape, frame or colour in the Figma canvas.
2. Run Sonify selection in Sound Kit.
3. Audition the derived sound.
4. Take it into the editor to trim, shape and normalise it.
