# AI sound generation

Type what you want — "short soft confirmation chime, warm, no reverb" — pick a length, and generate. Sound Kit talks to OpenAI, ElevenLabs or Replicate using your own API key, so you generate on your own account and pay the provider directly for exactly what you make.

## What it gives you

- **Bring your own key** — Your key, your account, your usage. Sound Kit never brokers or resells generation.
- **Three providers** — OpenAI, ElevenLabs and Replicate — switch per generation depending on what each is best at.
- **Straight into the editor** — A generated clip lands in the editor ready to trim, normalise and save to your library.

## How to use it

1. Add a provider key once in Settings → AI Providers.
2. Open Create → AI Generate and choose the provider.
3. Describe the sound and set the length.
4. Click Generate Sound, audition the result, then save it to your library.
