# How do I draw a motion path point by point?

> Switch From to Waypoints, then place, drag, and shape points right in the preview.

Set **From** to **Waypoints** to build a path by hand — no vector needed. You drop points in travel order and the plugin turns them into a real motion path on Apply.

_The Waypoints editor — numbered points on the live preview, plus the Points controls._

1. Switch **From** to **Waypoints**.
2. Click **Add point**, or click straight on the preview, to drop points in order.
3. Drag any point in the preview to move it — dragging is **unbounded**, so you can push a point well past the frame edges; tap **Fit** (the preview’s expand button) to reframe.
4. Double-click a point to delete it. Reorder or type exact X/Y in the **point list** below.

Select or drag a point and the preview shows a live **measurement readout**: the **distance in px** of each leg touching that point, plus the **corner angle** at the point and its two neighbours — drawn as an arc between the legs, showing both the inner angle and its reflex.

1. **Pause** (⏱ on a point) holds the object there before it moves on.
2. **Marker** drops a visible dot on the canvas at that point when you apply.
3. **Closed loop** joins the last point back to the first.
4. **From selected path** seeds the points from an existing vector’s corners — convert, then edit.
5. **Edit on canvas** lets you drag the point handles at true scale on the canvas, then **Done** to keep them (or **Cancel** to revert).

> **Note:** You need at least **two points** before Apply lights up. Each leg between points can carry its own pace, easing, and shape — see **How do I give one leg its own timing?**
