# What do Vector, Outline, and Procedural mean?

> The three ways the plugin resolves the path under From.

The **From** control chooses how the path is resolved:

_The From segmented control with Vector, Outline, and Procedural options._

1. **Vector** — the selected vector’s network (the default).
2. **Outline** — the perimeter of any shape: a rectangle, ellipse, polygon, star, or boolean — the plugin traces its outline as the path.
3. **Procedural** — a generated **Circle**, **Wave**, or **Spiral** centred on the first layer. It needs no path layer, and each shape has its own parameters (radius, turns, amplitude, wavelength).

> **Note:** Procedural sources have no path layer, so **Draw path on** is skipped for them.
