# How do I shift an object’s colour along the path?

> Colour shift keys the object’s fill through a ramp of stops as it travels — a heat trail, a status change, a charging flow.

The **Colour shift** section keys the object’s **fill colour** through a ramp of stops spaced by arc position. Two stops give a simple from→to shift; more stops key a multi-colour ramp — a heat trail, a status transition, or a “charging” flow. It’s a real fills[0] colour track, interpolated smoothly between dense samples.

_The dot warms from cool blue to hot orange as it climbs._

1. Turn on **Colour shift**.
2. Set **two or more stops** — the first is the start colour, the last is the end.
3. The object’s fill is keyed through the stops evenly along the path.

> **Note:** The object needs a solid fill to shift. It’s baked as native fills[0] colour keyframes.
