# What does “Add example to canvas” do?

> Drops a ready-made, self-contained demo (frame + object + path) so you can see the animation with no setup.

On the **Examples** tab, **Add example to canvas** builds the whole animation for you — it creates a frame, an object (and a path where the example needs one), applies the motion, and leaves it on your canvas. It’s the fastest way to see exactly what an example does without selecting or drawing anything yourself.

1. Pick an example and (optionally) tweak its variables.
2. Click **Add example to canvas** — a self-contained demo appears, already animated.
3. Play it on the Figma Motion timeline, then keep it, tweak it, or delete it.

> **Note:** Multi-node examples (morph / tether / connector) build the full wired scene — every layer created and linked. To animate your **own** layers instead, set the morph target / tether in the Morph or Connector section, then use **Apply to selection**.
