# How do I bind a chart to my Figma text styles?

> Pick a Figma text style instead of a font. The chart then uses the family, size and weight your design system already defines, so it matches the rest of your work without you retyping anything.

## Before you start

- Text styles defined in the current Figma file or a library it uses.

> **Tip:** This is the typography equivalent of importing your colour variables. Between the two, a chart can inherit its whole appearance from the design system rather than approximating it.

> **Note:** If a text style is missing from the list, check it is published from the library your file uses — the plugin can only see styles Figma exposes to this file.

## Steps

1. In the typography controls, choose a Figma text style rather than picking a font by name.
2. Search the list and pick the style you want. The chart shows which style it is bound to.
3. Bind different parts of the chart to different styles where it helps — a heading style for the title, a caption style for axis labels.
