# Can I move a chart to a different library?

> Not in one click — there is no library switcher. You carry the data across yourself: export it, open the equivalent chart under the other tab, and paste it back in.

> **Note:** Inserting does not replace the chart already on your canvas. You get a second frame, and the first one stays exactly where it was.

> **Note:** Pasting fills the cells that already exist rather than adding new ones. If the chart you have moved to starts with fewer rows, add them before you paste.

> **Pro feature:** Export CSV and pasting into the table are free. The Import tab needs PRO.

> **Tip:** This only works cleanly within a family. A Sankey, a treemap and a heatmap each need a different data shape, so moving between those means re-entering the data rather than pasting it.

## Steps

1. Open the chart you want to move and go to the Data tab. Press Export CSV in the toolbar to save your numbers, or select the cells and press ⌘C (Ctrl C on Windows) to copy them.
2. Press Back to return to the gallery, switch to the library tab you want, and open the closest equivalent chart there.
3. Put the data back. Click the first cell in the table and press ⌘V (Ctrl V) to paste, or open the Import tab and bring the CSV in.
4. Go through the Configuration tab again. Your colour palette and chart style come with you — those are set for the whole plugin — but per-library options such as axis and series settings do not.
5. Insert the new chart, then delete the old frame from the canvas if you no longer want it.
