# How do I pan and zoom the chart preview?

> The preview behaves like the Figma canvas: two-finger scroll to pan, pinch or ⌘-scroll to zoom where your cursor is, and drag to move it around. None of it changes the chart — it is just how you are looking at it.

> **Tip:** Double-click the grey area around the chart to flip between Fit and 100%. Fit is the default and stays highlighted until you pan or zoom away from it.

> **Note:** You cannot lose the chart. At least a sliver of it always stays inside the viewport, and switching to a different chart library resets the view to Fit.

> **Note:** With the Inspector on, dragging over the chart selects elements instead of panning. Drag the grey surround, or hold Space, to move the view while the Inspector is running.

## Steps

1. Scroll with two fingers anywhere over the preview to move the chart around. Hold Shift while scrolling a mouse wheel to go sideways.
2. Pinch on a trackpad, or hold ⌘ (Ctrl on Windows) and scroll, to zoom. Whatever is under your cursor stays under your cursor, so you can zoom straight into a crowded axis.
3. Drag with the left mouse button to pan. A short click still counts as a click, so tooltips and the Inspector keep working — panning only takes over once you have actually moved.
4. Hold Space and drag for the hand tool, exactly as on the Figma canvas. A middle-mouse drag does the same thing without the keyboard.
5. Use the small toolbar at the top right of the preview for exact steps: − and ＋ move through fixed stops from 10% to 300%, the percentage in the middle snaps to 100% for true pixel size, and Fit returns the whole chart to view.
