# My licence key isn't working

> The red message under the field says which of five things went wrong — a mistyped key, a key already in use, a key for another product, a lapsed subscription, or no connection. Each one has a different fix.

> **Note:** The plugin re-checks your licence with the store when it opens, and about once an hour while you use paid features. That is why a patchy connection can look like a licence fault.

> **Tip:** A failed check does not cost you PRO straight away. If the store cannot be reached, your plan stays active for up to 14 days from the last successful check and Settings shows Offline mode - license will be re-validated when connected.

> **Note:** A key that the store actively rejects — expired, disabled or refunded — is cleared from the plugin rather than kept. That is deliberate: it stops a dead key from silently pretending to work.

> **Tip:** Still stuck? Email info@systergon.com with your licence key and what the dialog said. Copy the address by clicking it in the footer.

## Steps

1. Read the message under the License Key field before trying again — the plugin names the actual problem rather than failing silently.
2. For Invalid license key, copy the key out of your purchase email once more. The commonest cause is a partly selected key, missing its first or last block.
3. For Activation limit reached, the key is still registered to another Figma account. The dialog offers a ready-written email to support@systergon.com — send it and the activation is reset, usually within 24 hours.
4. For This license key is not valid for FigmaCharts Pro, the key belongs to a different product. Check you have opened the right purchase email.
5. For This license has expired, renew from the order page linked in your purchase email, then activate the key again.
6. For Network error, wait until you are back online and press Activate again. Retrying is harmless — the plugin recognises an activation that already went through and restores it instead of using a second one.
7. If PRO was working and the footer has dropped back to Free Plan with Unable to validate license, it is the check-in that failed, not your key. Reconnect and reopen the plugin.
