# How do I find a specific chart option?

> Use the search box at the top of the Configuration tab. Options are also grouped by what they affect — title, legend, axes, tooltip, colours and so on.

> **Tip:** Some controls appear greyed out. That means they would have no effect given your other settings — corner radius does nothing on a transparent background, for example. Hover to see why.

> **Note:** The available options come from the chart library itself, so they differ between Highcharts, ECharts, Nivo, ApexCharts and Google Charts. A setting you used on one library may simply not exist on another.

## Steps

1. Open the Configuration tab. Options are grouped — Appearance, Title, Legend, Axes, Tooltip, Grid, Colors, Animation and a group for whichever chart type you are using.
2. Type into the search box to filter across every group at once. This is much faster than opening groups one by one.
3. If you cannot find an option at all, check the complexity control in the header — Essential deliberately hides most of them.
