# How do I find the chart type I need?

> The gallery filters in two steps: pick a library tab, then pick a category chip below it. You see one category at a time, and every tile is a live chart rather than a picture.

> **Note:** Switching library resets the filter to Bar. That is deliberate — the category you had may not exist in the library you just moved to.

> **Tip:** There is no search box in the gallery. If you know the shape of your data but not the chart name, the chart-type guide gets you to the right category faster than scrolling.

> **Tip:** Tiles are rendered fresh each time, so a big category can take a moment to fill in. Nothing is broken while the loading bar is showing.

## Steps

1. Choose a library tab first. The categories underneath change with it, because each library ships a different set — Google offers 15 categories, ApexCharts 13, ECharts 21, HighCharts and D3 - Nivo 26 each.
2. Click a category chip to filter. Only the chips that library actually has are shown, so an empty result is not something you can land on.
3. If the chips do not all fit, the rest collapse into a More menu at the right-hand end. Open it to reach the long tail — Sunburst, Marimekko, Theme River and the like. A tick marks the one currently selected.
4. Every tile in the grid is drawn live with your current colour palette, so what you see is what the plugin will produce. Click one to open it in the editor.
