# How do I edit a chart by asking for changes?

> Open the AI tab inside the editor and describe the change — "make the bars thinner", "move the legend to the bottom", "use our brand blue". It rewrites the chart settings for you.

## Before you start

- An AI provider key saved in settings.
- A chart open in the editor.

> **Tip:** This is quickest for options you would otherwise have to hunt for in the Configuration tab. For something you already know the location of, changing it directly is faster and costs nothing.

> **Note:** It edits the chart settings, not your data. To change the numbers, use the Data tab.

## Steps

1. With a chart open, go to the AI tab.
2. Describe the change in plain language. One change at a time works better than a list.
3. Check the preview. If it is not what you meant, say so — it keeps the context of the chart you are working on.
